Our Strategy
Transforming clean energy assets
while generating competitive returns for investors.
Our goal is two-fold: maintain a strong, alternative equity investment product while having a positive impact on the environment.

What We Look For When Acquiring Clean Energy Assets
Our role at Skyline Energy is to manage, maintain, and monitor all clean energy assets within the Skyline Clean Energy Fund (SCEF).
We focus on acquiring large-scale, income-producing clean energy assets in Canada. Each of the assets must be backed by either:
- A long-term Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) or Renewable Energy Standard Offer Programme (RESOP) contract, where the government agrees to purchase the electricity produced at a fixed price. There are 30,000 solar portfolio contracts that were built in Ontario as part of the FIT program, which equates to just over $8B in assets.
- A long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with creditworthy counterparts, where the private corporation/landowner purchases the electricity produced at a fixed price. Any excess power not used by the property is sold to the grid for general use.
As the renewable energy landscape shifts from government-backed assets to privately-owned assets, we are well-positioned to acquire assets under PPA contracts.
We seek both stabilized and under-performing assets, valuing them based on their revenue potential, and the investment required to optimize or upgrade them to maximize their energy output. After acquiring an asset, we implement restoration maintenance to ensure the system produces at full capacity.
Where We Buy
Geographic location is an important consideration when strategically targeting clean energy assets for the Skyline Clean Energy Fund. We target income-producing assets in diverse markets across Canada, so that risk is minimized when a single system is under-performing.
We target secondary and tertiary markets where competition is low, so that we can purchase assets at more favourable prices, thereby aggregating more assets to further maximize diversity and minimize risk.

Asset Monitoring and Maintenance
Without the right maintenance team, solar assets lose production efficiency, leading to below-average production—which translates into less money earned. Our sophisticated monitoring system ensures that every asset continues to perform optimally.
In the case of a fluctuation in energy output, our Skyline Energy support crews are on 24/7 standby for deployment with any reported incident. By conducting a round-the-clock monitoring of these assets, Skyline Energy can ensure optimum performance and 100 percent system uptime.
