Deanna Martin

Deanna (Dee) manages the daily operations for Skyline Bio-En Power’s portfolio of biogas facilities. In this role, she oversees a large team of plant managers, operators, and general labourers across Alberta and Ontario.

Dee joined Skyline Bio-En Power in 2022 with more than a decade of industry experience in the relatively young biogas industry. Previous to Skyline, she was part of the crew that was commissioned to build the Woolwich Bio-En Inc. facility in Elmira, Ontario, one of Canada’s largest biogas facilities. She was also involved in commissioning a biogas plant in Nicaragua and acted as a reference for Cornerstone Renewables, leveraging their expertise to guide other farm digestors in their operations. Dee also provides consulting services for Marl Creek, a small farm digestor, ensuring the health and efficiency of the digestor.

Dee also has several years of experience in the IT field, where she developed transferable skills in database work and coding. This unique background allowed her to be an intermediary between the mechanical and operations teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. As the biogas industry is relatively new, Dee has undergone extensive training since the commissioning of the plants to stay at the forefront of industry practices.

Dee brings a diverse skillset encompassing mechanical, electrical, biology, and regulatory expertise to her role at Skyline Bio-En Power. Operational flexibility is emphasized, enabling the biogas plants to adapt to changing markets and demand as the industry evolves.

Dee’s goal is to grow the business while making a positive impact on the world by addressing the pressing issue of climate change. She is committed to being part of the solution and is passionate about the potential of biogas to contribute to a more sustainable future.

Dee is a graduate of Conestoga College’s Business Management program and has achieved operator certifications from both the International Biogas and Bioenergy Competence Centre (IBKK) and the American Biogas Council (ABC).
